One of the most beautiful villages in Italy, Canale di Tenno and its lake Lake
Tenno is a true natural jewel of Trentino, which, due to its incredible shades of blue-turquoise colour is called by some "lake Azzurro" or the blue lake.
Set in an intact alpine landscape and only a few kilometres away from Lake Garda, it is located at 570 metres above sea level on the slopes of Monte Misone. Around the lake there are no buildings and the landscape is characterised by a dense forest: this, together with the white stones at the bottom, gives the lake its greeny-blue colour which looks almost tropical.
Canale di Tenno one of the most beautiful villages in Italy
The nearby medieval village of Canale di Tenno (also known as the "Village of artists") is undoubtedly a must for those who want to immerse themselves in the magic of a place of other times, which exudes history, art and culture. It has recently been included in the list of the Most Beautiful Villages of Italy. Winter is characterised by traditional Christmas markets which have attracted many tourists for years because of their originality.
How to get there:
Follow the road which runs along the lake until you reach Ponte Arche, here continue as far as Fiavè, crossing the agricultural areas of Bleggio and Lomaso, then you reach the Ballino pass and after a while you arrive in Tenno.
