Rango, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy
Rango: a Trentino jewel
A small town that preserves ancient traditions and architecture
Rango is a delightful village that stands on the high ground of Bleggio Superiore. It dominates the entire surrounding area from above and is situated behind Garda and at the foot of the Brenta Dolomites. It is a popular place to visit, especially in winter, because of the Christmas atmosphere created by the markets and the proximity to the snow, but it knows how to make a name for itself in summer as well, thanks to the presence of nearby Lake Garda. The village appears as a small treasure chest of tranquility and peace, carved into the rock, which suddenly opens up after climbing the scenic hairpin bends that lead from the valley to high ground.
The village boasts a long history that can be read on the walls of the ancient dwellings, in the porticoes, doorways and courtyards, all perfectly preserved, as if stopped in a time that now appears distant. It is a paradise of small rural houses that speaks of a past that saw the passage of pilgrims, shepherds, merchants and solitary travelers who stopped there to rest and refresh themselves. This role as an area of passage is evidenced by the conformation and architecture; in fact, the buildings are placed side by side and connected by tunnels, through which travelers could pass without ever going outside, thus avoiding the cold, rain or snow.
